The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has launched a public call for evidence to inform the Timms Review into Personal Independence Payment (PIP). This consultation provides an important opportunity for AdviceUK members to help shape the future of disability benefits policy.
As part of the Government’s wider reforms to the health and disability benefits system, the consultation is seeking views on a number of potential changes to PIP, including assessment criteria, eligibility thresholds, and its structure and value.
The deadline for submitting evidence is 28 May, and AdviceUK will be preparing a response. We know that many of our members have first‑hand insight into how how proposed reforms could affect advice services and the people you support. Your experience is invaluable in ensuring that any changes are informed by what happens on the frontline.
If you are able to share these insights with us to make our submission stronger, please get in touch with us via influencing@adviceuk.org.uk
The full consultation details are available here. The Review would specifically like feedback on:
AdviceUK will be drawing on our previous submissions on disability benefits reform, including our response to the Pathways to Work Green Paper consultation, which many of you fed into. If you are able to discuss how these proposals may affect your service and clients, please get in touch with us by 14 May.
