Long-serving Chief Executive to leave AdviceUK

BY Emma Coates | March 15, 2023

We are officially announcing today that our long-serving Chief Executive, Steve Johnson, is retiring at the end of March, to be succeeded immediately in April by Liz Bayram, formerly the Chief Executive of PACEY, the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years. https://www.pacey.org.uk  Liz was appointed in January following a recruitment process that began in November. Coming from a membership organisation and having led PACEY for 17 years, Liz has faced many of the challenges familiar to AdviceUK and its members with notable success.

Commenting on Steve’s retirement and Liz’s appointment, AdviceUK’s Chair of Trustees, Baljit Badesha (CE of Nucleus Legal Advice Centre, London) has said: “As board members we’ve been able to plan carefully for this succession, thanks to Steve giving us a very long period of notice. All of us associated with AdviceUK owe Steve a tremendous debt of gratitude and we wish him a long and happy retirement. He’s left us in a uniquely strong position and, in choosing Liz as his successor, we’re confident that we’re poised for further improvements of benefit to members.”
