This half-day version of the course – written by MHFA – provides an outline of the different types of mental ill health people may present with, communication skills to be used in an advice setting, as well as covering awareness for participants to be mindful of their own mental health. By the end of the course participants will:
- Be able to define mental health and some mental health issues
- Understand factors that affect mental health
- Identify stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health issues
- Feel more confident starting conversations about mental health
- Understand more about your own mental health
This course is a great introduction to many of the issues that are expanded upon in the full MHFA course, which Laura can also deliver both for open and in-house training.
