GDPR & Data Protection

As you may know, there are forthcoming changes to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), mainly designed to enable individuals to have better control over their personal data.

As an advice organisation, this will require you to review and form strategies on how you handle your client’s data. Starting from 25th May 2018 you will need to show that your organisation is making steps to adhere to the new legislation. Whilst this might seem an overwhelming task, AdviceUK have put together a helpful GDPR Toolkit to help support you through the process.

To find our more about the GDPR Toolkit visit the page AdviceUK GDPR Toolkit contact us at events@adviceuk.org.uk or call us on 0300 777 0107.

In addition to the AdviceUK Toolkit we have a number of documents and resources in the table below that may useful in providing the guidance you need to implement your own GDPR strategy:

To support our members and other organisations we held a conference on GDPR on 12th April 2018. The conference had a number of speakers from a variety of charities – including a keynote speech from Stephen Dunmore, Chief Executive of the Fundraising Regulator. In the table below are links to information from that event.
