Assessor Qualification
Tuesday 22 & Wednesday 23 October 2013, London
Members £485, Voluntary sector - £535 + VAT, All others - £595 + VAT
Who is this course for?
This two-day course is for experienced practitioners who want to become vocational qualification assessors in their own field of expertise. To become an assessor you will need to have access to at least two candidates who are undertaking vocational qualifications and be job competent in your chosen field. You can assess up to and including the level at which you are competent. The course is generic rather than specific to any particular sector. As a trainee assessor, you will be assessed on how you perform to the qualification standards.
What does the course cover?
The course covers an understanding of vocational qualifications and their value, how they are structured, the people and terminology involved, and the importance of quality assurance and continuing professional development. The course itself is just the starting point - you'll need to go on and assess two people at work to gain the qualification. An extra two half days will be arranged to follow the course to support you in gathering evidence for your portfolio. You are expected to complete the award within 15 months.
You will explore:
- Best practice in assessing differing sources of evidence
- Performance and knowledge requirements of the assessor qualification
- Compiling your assessor qualification portfolio
CPD hours - 10
