Who is this course for?
The course is designed for anyone working with vulnerable clients, or who responsible for meeting the needs of service users, whether that be through frontline delivery of services or management of a project/service.
What does the course cover?
This course will increase your awareness of ways of recognising and understanding mental illness and will provide you with ‘first aid’ strategies for supporting someone suffering mental ill-health.
Objectives for the day:
• Distinguish between the myths and the facts about mental illness
• Identify signs and symptoms of depression, anxiety and psychosis
• Recognise behaviours that may indicate underlying mental ill-health
• Use the key steps to support someone suffering mental ill-health
