Who is this course for?

The course is designed for anyone who is responsible for developing, organising, co-ordinating or managing a service that involves (or wishes to involve) volunteer staff. This is a great course for those new to this type of role, and also provides a comprehensive refresher for more experienced staff.


What does the course cover?

This course will provide you with a range of tools and techniques to help build and sustain an effective and productive volunteer service. What policies and procedures might be of use? How can you make the best use of your volunteers and keep them interested? What issues or difficulties might arise?


Objectives for the day:

• Explore people’s motivations for volunteering and how you can tap into these
• Explain best practice in relation to the recruitment and retention of volunteers
• Consider the legal implications of making use of volunteer staff
