In order to achieve this we are currently recruiting for a Student Advisor to join our Advice Service.The Advice Service provides free, friendly and independent advice and information to all Durham University students. Our professional and experienced advice team cover all main areas of student concerns, including housing and academic issues, whether that’s through face-to-face appointments or our bank of digital resources.
We are looking for a Student Advisor to join the team to deliver a high quality advocacy and self-help service, through managing a personal caseload and by supporting the development of volunteers and resources to address common and simple queries.
You will have a good level of experience providing advice and support both at the basic and complex levels and comply with the confidentiality and safeguarding guidelines. You will need to be able to deliver this in person, over the phone and in writing and will therefore have an exceptional vocabulary and possess excellent written and computer literacy skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their own workload and will be expected to have exceptional time management skills to manage casework and project work.
