The RCN Lamplight Support Service supports the nursing community to adapt to change or deal with pressures adversely affecting their financial situation. It is provided through a collaboration of the Royal College of Nursing, professional body and trade union, and the RCN Foundation, charity.
Lamplight’s friendly and professional team have the expertise to provide tailored advice and information on:
- Eligibility for welfare benefits and tax credits;
- Assessing a household’s financial capability to meet its outgoings;
- Ways to increase income and reduce expenditure;
- Setting an action plan to enable individuals to take steps to improve their financial wellbeing;
- Additional services that could benefit the individual.
The service also administers a hardship grant of £275,000 to support its clients.
We are looking to recruit an Income Maximisation Adviser on a temporary basis whilst we are recruiting to the permanent vacancy, which the temporary worker will have the opportunity to apply for.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience in delivering frontline benefits advice and have a solid understanding of the current welfare system. In post, the successful candidate will be expected to deliver up to four telephone welfare advice appointments a day as well as processing applications to a hardship fund.
