General Help Quality Mark
On 7 March 2012, the Legal Services Commission confirmed that they have completed the evaluation of all applications received to take over the intellectual property rights for the General Help Quality Mark (GHQM). A further update is expected shortly.
The current licence agreement for auditing the GHQM ends on 31 March 2012. It is envisaged that the successful body will take full ownership and maintenance of the GHQM (including delivery of the audit services) from early summer 2012. As of this date, the GHQM will no longer be owned or endorsed by the LSC. The successful body will be required to rebrand the GHQM (including a new name and logo). Holders of the rebranded standard will no longer be published on the CLS’s Legal Provider Finder (formerly referred to as the Community Legal Advice Directory).
Organisations that have recently undergone an audit with The Assessment Network (TAN) will not be required to be re audited by the new owners of the GQM standard until the expiry of their current GQM award.
