Quality Mark
There has been some confusion about the status of the Community Legal Service Quality Mark for work at General Help and General Help with Casework levels.
In 2009, the Legal Services Commission (LSC) outsourced the auditing services for the General Quality Mark (GQM) to The Assessment Network Ltd (TAN). The audit services contract commenced on 1 April 2009 and was due to end on 31 March 2011. In September 2010 the LSC took the decision to extend the contract to deliver the auditing services of the GQM with TAN for an additional 12-month period (commencing on 1 April 2011 and finishing on 31 March 2012).
We understand that TAN will be contacting all GQM holders to confirm the extension of the contract, and that organisations who have paid for a GQM from TAN will continue to hold the status for a further 2-year period from the date of certification.
