Project Partners
The BOLD partnership involves AdviceUK (lead partner), nef (new economics foundation) and DSC (Directory of Social Change).
AdviceUK
Established in 1979, AdviceUK is the largest network of independent advice agencies in the UK. Our members work in some of the poorest parts of the UK, helping people to solve legal and social welfare problems. Together, our members provide free advice to over 2 million people a year. We support our members in improving what they do and providing a national voice.
nef (the new economics foundation)
nef is an independent ‘think and do’ tank (and a registered charity) that works globally and locally to improve the quality of life by challenging mainstream thinking on economic, environmental and social issues. nef believes a diverse and independent community and voluntary sector is vital in the creation of resilient and thriving communities across the UK. Much of our recent work around public services has challenged the existing model of commissioning with its emphasis on market competition and neglect of the social, environmental and local economic value that smaller, community-based organisations create.
DSC
Over more than 30 years, the Directory of Social Change has established a reputation for delivering practical, targeted and affordable services to charities and community groups. We believe that well trained and well informed organisations are more able to hold firm to their purpose and maintain their independence, and we are the largest provider of training and publications to the UK voluntary sector.
