Liz Carboni – AdviceUK Training & Qualifications Manager

Liz Carboni joined AdviceUK in 2002 and oversees AdviceUK’s qualifications and training. This includes running the Ofqual regulated qualifications assessment centre which offers the City & Guilds level 3 and 4 certificates and diplomas in Advice & Guidance, the level 5 NVQ Diploma in Leadership and Management through the Institute of Leadership and Management and a number of assessor, quality assurance and education & training qualifications. In the recent external audit report from City & Guilds (January 2017), the qualifications offer was commended for its professionalism. Liz leads on the Investors in People accreditation for AdviceUK and has been an active member of a number of National Occupational Standards and qualifications development steering groups for the not for profit legal advice sector.

Steve Thorpe - Training & Qualifications

Steve Thorpe – Training & Qualifications Coordinator

Steve joined AdviceUK in 2013 from Breast Cancer Care and has a coordinating and supporting role in the Learning and Skills team. Steve’s career has spanned Local authorities, Information, Organisational Development and HR before he specialised in Learning and Development in 2000.

A member of the CIPD, Steve now also combines coordinating with delivering a number of AdviceUK training courses. These include modules on the flagship Learning to Advise Programme, drawing on his extensive experience working with service users.
