Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) consultation on the Guidance on Competence
What the consultation is about
OISC recently issued a consultation on revising its Guidance on Competence. The Guidance on Competence sets out the requirements that advisers must meet in order to provide immigration advice and services at different levels and in different categories of immigration law. The OISC proposes changing the levels and categories of law, and therefore the corresponding criteria for OISC authorisation, so that the regulation of immigration advisers remains relevant in the face of changes in the law and in the wider immigration system.
