London Advice Conference: 'Share and Inspire' 2012

 

5th London Advice Conference: ‘Share and Inspire’ : Resources,  audio-recordings and video footage.

The London Advice Conference: ‘Share and Inspire’ held on the 3rd July 2012 at Clifford Chance, was the fifth Conference organised by the London Advice Executive (LAE) - AdviceUK, Citizens Advice, Lasa and Law Centres Network.

The Conference brought together over 115 delegates  including frontline advisers, centre managers and experts of the advice sector in London.

Keynote speakers included:

Andrew Slaughter, MP  for Hammersmith and Shadow Justice Minister.

Steve Hynes, Director of the Legal Action Group (LAG)

LAG is a national charity that promotes access to justice and undertakes policy research on access to justice issues particularly the funding, quality and availability of legal services for the public.

The Conference was structured around eight facilitated workshops and presentations to allow all 

participants to enter into practical discussions.

For the final session Hilary Norman – Deputy Director, Office for Civil Society, Cabinet Office, addressed the  conference on Government  plans for the advice sector. This was followed by an expert panel chaired by Liz Barclay -Broadcaster and writer- and included the following :

Bharat Mehta OBE – Chief Executive, Trust for London 

Lord Bach – Former Shadow Justice Minister, House of Lords

Adam Sampson- Legal Ombudsman
