Pitches are intended to provide you with an opportunity to inspire and inform the audience. You can share your personal story, describe your mission, what you do, why it is needed and what you are achieving. Following this, you can outline what help and support you are looking for in terms of skills and expertise from the Dragons.

Hannah regularly appears as a guest expert for national media outlets, providing industry insight and analysis for a host of TV channels and radio stations, including BBC Breakfast, Sky News and BBC Radio. Hannah also writes a regular newspaper column for the Gloucestershire Echo and quotes for national newspapers including The Telegraph, The Mirror and The Times. Hannah has a wealth of knowledge and expertise and has committed to supporting a successful candidate.
Jacqui Kennedy – Acting Strategic Director (Place Directorate) – Birmingham City Council
Jacqui has worked for Birmingham City Council for the whole of her career. Her current goal is to lead her services through the current significant financial challenges and to continue to promote and support local government. More financial challenges lie ahead for local authorities so Jacqui’s focus is on the resources available and their maximization. She believes that effective partnership and innovative thinking are key and will share her expertise with successful organizations to help them to build resilience.
James Walker – CEO – Resolver
Resolver is a free online complaint-resolution tool designed to help consumers handle and resolve issues against the top service providers in the UK. The service covers more than 4,000 organisations and companies, including all key retailers, utilities, restaurants, local authorities, car manufacturers and financial service providers.
James is a self-made entrepreneur who has kindly agreed to make his talents available to successful applicants.
Lee Usher – Debt Advice Strategy Manager – UKAR
UK Asset Resolution Ltd (UKAR) is the holding company established to bring together the closed mortgage books of NRAM plc and Bradford & Bingley plc (B&B), which includes Mortgage Express. Lee is a financial services specialist who oversees the delivery of UKAR’s Debt Advice strategy; promoting greater engagement with customers in difficulty and easier access to impartial debt advice. Successful candidates will not only be able to access his skills and expertise but also those of the wider UKAR team.
Gareth McNab – Money Advice Manager – Nationwide Building Society
Gareth is a developing leader in the business, charity and social sectors, with a growing portfolio of responsibilities and a strong track record in combining the strengths of these sectors in developing innovative and collaborative approaches to social and business issues.
Nationwide Building society has a strong commitment to supporting the voluntary sector. Successful applicants will not only be able to access Gareth’s skills and expertise but also those of the wider Nationwide Staff team.
Liz Barclay will contact all the shortlisted applicants to brief the speaker and provide some support and guidance with the pitch. You are not allowed to make a request for funding. The request is for skills, expertise and advice (e.g. a mentor, strategic advice, help with IT, HR, legal matters, marketing, PR, communications, trustees with specific skills etc).
