Salary: £26,500.00 – £29,500,000 (depending on experience) per annum including London Weighting plus up to 5% Pension Contribution

Age UK Westminster is an independent charity supporting the over 50s in aspects of later life including, loneliness, isolation or poverty, by providing support and vital services to help people accept and adapt to later life and enjoy it.
Our organisation has recently secured funding to launch a pilot Debt Intervention Service, focused on supporting older people who are struggling with debt or are at risk of falling into debt.
We are recruiting for a Debt Intervention officer, who will help us to develop and manage this exciting new service, and expand the capacity of our existing Information & Advice team. The successful applicant will provide Debt and Money Management Advice to Westminster residents aged 50 plus, through a combination of home visits, one to one appointments, weekly drop in surgeries and by telephone.
To be considered for this position you must have at least 1 years’ experience of working as Debt and Money adviser in a paid (we are willing to train debt caseworker standard for the right candidate with relevant transferrable advice work skills), has working knowledge of welfare benefits and experience of the lives of older people. We are seeking an individual who is flexible, has the ability to work in multi-disciplinary team, excellent communication and negotiating skills, and a caring attitude towards vulnerable older people.
The post holder must be or willing to become a member of the Institute of Money Advisors (within the first month of employment) and gain a Certificate of Accreditation (within 6 months of employment).
