Accessibility

In relauncing our web site we have incorporated a number of features on the site, in addition to those available in browser software, which we hope improve the accessibility of our site to visitors. These improvements include an ability to change the size of the text, different colour contrasts and a low graphics version of the site.  We are also using 'ALT' tags more thoroughly on the site where images are used and have tried to reduce the number of unnecessary images used.

Different design options were circulated amongst some AdviceUK members and staff who were interested in helping us improve our web site accessibility and we have tried to incorporate as much of their feedback as possible.  Thanks to everyone who helped by making comments on that.

Moving forward

More of our staff are maintaining pages following the sites relaunch and as part of their training to do this, the importance of accessbility and ensuring these standards were maintained was emphasised to them.

We appreciate there are continuing developments and will endeavour to keep up-to-date with these and incorporate these where possible in future site developments.
