2008 - Surviving in the eye of the storm
AdviceUK held its first annual conference in Coventry in October 2008.
Surviving in the eye of the storm was a day of practical sessions designed to help agency managers to share best practice and gain new skills to help them face the challenges of finance, mergers and statistics.
A strong lineup of session leaders included Crispin Passmore Head of Community legal Services at the Legal Services Commission, Andy Benson, Co-ordinator for Hackney Advice Forum and Hannana Sidiqqi, managing Director at Southall Black Sisters, and many more.
These excellent session leaders hoped for audience participation - and they weren't dissapointed! Delegates shared ideas and insight both during the sessions and over coffee.
AdviceUK's Annual General Meeting was also moved to coincide with the conference. This resulted in the largest number of attendees ever at the AGM - asking questions and putting forward their views on the future directiopn of the network.
You will find photos from this exciting day on the 2008 photos page.
